The 7/8 Ag students were asked to scour (clean) a sample of wool straight from the sheep. This simulates the first step in the wool processing flowchart which takes place on a huge scale in factories around the world. They had the option of hot or cold wash, with or without detergent. Next step was drying, followed by combing. The whitest, brightest, softest sample was the winner! Scouring was followed by dyeing, with students trying out different food colours.
