Supportive Playgroups

The ELC continues to offer a Supportive Playgroup to children and their families on a Friday morning 9am to 11am during term time.

The cost per session is $2 per family. Our playgroup is facilitated by Alain Parsons who works across the ELC in the preschool program and rural care program.

Supportive playgroups have a focus on children’s learning and development as well as supporting families to ‘see’ the learning that occurs in everyday play and learning opportunities.

These opportunities are as simple as engaging in conversations with their children, reading a book or singing songs with them. The playgroup program is underpinned by the following key ideas:

  • Talking Together
  • Reading Together
  • Singing Together
  • Looking Together
  • Playing Together
  • Laughing Together
  • Belonging Together and
  • Learning Together

Playgroup is also an opportunity to meet new families in a welcoming and relaxed environment. We look forward to seeing you at playgroup and sharing your child’s learning and development with you.
