Premier’s Anzac Spirit School Prize

Congratulations to Sophie Baker and her teacher Lauren Smith who have both written essays judged worthy enough for them to win a trip to Vietnam in the ‘Premier’s Anzac Spirit School Prize.

Sophie had to write an essay based on someone that served in the First World War. Her essay was on one of her relatives, Matron Elizabeth Mosely, who coincidentally is from my home town of Robertstown.

Sophie was one of four students selected by Lauren to be submitted. All who entered the competition wrote some amazing essays that were easily at a Year 12 English Literature standard. For me, it shows the standard that all of our students are capable of when given an opportunity. It also reflects the excellence and pride that our students are showing. The growth of academic performance at Central Yorke is something that all of our students should be proud of.
