One Bottle of Pop

In Music, the Year 5/6 classes have been investigating ‘Rounds’, special songs with verses written with different tunes that can be sung at the same time.

We listened to some different rounds being sung and played (we really like ‘Row, Row, Row Your Boat!”) then played some rhythmic rounds using body percussion.
We learned to sing ‘One Bottle of Pop’ in three parts with the school choir and have been learning to play it on the tuned percussion instruments.
It’s harder than it looks!

But students have persevered with several high grades being awarded in our performance assessments for accurate rhythm, pitch and ability to play independent parts.
