NAIDOC Celebrations at Point Pearce

On Monday August 7, the Point Pearce Campus was involved with the 2017 NAIDOC week celebration ‘Point Pearce Is Coming Alive’, held in and around the Community Hall.

Students from the Maitland Campus and other schools attended, along with community members and invited guests.

There were lots of activities, including country music by Warren Milera and Owen Karpany, public stalls, a well-and a well attended jumping castle.

SSO April Wilson and FLO Student Tshara Smith did an amazing job face painting people of all ages, April said ‘ I didn’t think the line was ever going to end!’.

Tshara was also privileged enough to meet and paint a beautiful lady from Hardwicke Bay, who had never had her face painted before! She loved her Aboriginal Flag.

Tauondi College provided a barista coffee van and a shared lunch of roast pork and vegetables was cooked up by Daniel Richardson and the Point Pearce school. The ice cream was also a hit!
