SAASTA Connect Collaboration |Country Arts YP Grounded Lantern Project

SAASTA Connect students recently worked with Country Arts SA to build lanterns for use in the closing ceremony of YP Grounded.
Guided by Jasmine Swales, Sonya Rankine and Nikki Ashby, students began by listening to the Widhadha story and song, written by Sonya. Using cane, they constructed the scaffolds of the figures before covering them with greaseproof paper and glue to create lanterns.

The project combined cultural learning with hands-on creativity and the finished lanterns will form a striking feature at the YP Grounded closing event.
