Welcome to another exciting year at Central Yorke School! As we embark on this journey together, we are thrilled to share some of the wonderful programs and events that will be taking place this term.
We remain committed to providing diverse and enriching opportunities for our students and we look forward to a year filled with growth, learning, and success.
Certificate II in Electrotechnology
We are pleased to announce that the Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start) program has successfully commenced. Hosted by CYS and run by the RTO Equals International, this program sees senior school students from across the Peninsula, including CYS, Minlaton District School, Ardrossan Area School, Kadina Memorial School, Maitland Lutheran School, and Harvest Christian College, participating every Tuesday from 9 am to 3 pm.
This is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain valuable skills and knowledge in the field of electrotechnology
Yorke Peninsula Ag Alliance
The Yorke Peninsula Ag Alliance kicked off on Friday, Week 1.
It was fantastic to see the two schools in the Maitland community combine for what is going to be a highly successful Ag program. Every Tuesday and Friday, students from Maitland Lutheran School will join our students for the program run by Jaynelle LeFeurve and Seth Matson. We anticipate high achievements from this program throughout the year.
SAASTA and SAASTA Connect
Our SAASTA and SAASTA Connect programs will be held on Wednesdays at CYS. Approximately 20 senior SAASTA students (Years 10-12) and 40 middle school SAASTA Connect students (Years 7-9) will be participating.
Teachers Chelsea Schmidt, Jack Muirhead, Charlotte Nixon, and Mitchell Lally, along with ACEO support from Kay Lawrence, Daniel Newchurch, and Tshara Rigney, will guide these students through what promises to be a fantastic program.
Year 7/8 Aquatics Camp
Get ready for the upcoming Year 7/8 Aquatics Camp in Week 4, led by Eden Caputo and Mitchell Lally.
This camp is a wonderful opportunity for students to engage in outdoor activities and develop teamwork skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Leaders Induction Ceremony
Our students are currently involved in the process of applying for SRC and Head Prefect roles, as well as House Captain roles. The Leaders Induction Ceremony will be held on Friday of Week 5.
We look forward to seeing our new leaders and celebrating the leadership development occurring within our school.
Upcoming Sports Day
Mark your calendars for Sports Day on Thursday of Week 6! Students should now be in their houses, and sports day preparations are underway.
For all sports enquiries, please see Prue Brind or Naomi Bowley. If you are willing and able to support or help on the day, please let these staff members know. The more, the merrier! We look forward to another great day and hope to see the Eagles achieve a big win!
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. We are excited about the year ahead and the opportunities it holds for all our students.
Kind Regards,
