Year 2/3 Science

Anti-Gravity in a Bottle!

This term, Miss Chivers’ Year 2/3 class has been exploring the wonders of physical sciences, and their latest hands-on activity was both educational and eye-catching! Using distilled water, baby oil, food colouring and plenty of glitter, students created their own “anti-gravity” bottles. While the final results didn’t turn out exactly as expected, students observed fascinating interactions between the liquids — many even commented that their bottles looked like lava lamps.

To ensure they can be enjoyed all term (and to avoid any sparkly spills), the lids have been carefully superglued shut. A fun, colourful way to bring science to life in the classroom!
