Driving Our Achievements

Wow, I can’t believe that my five weeks of Long Service Leave went that quick! But now it’s great to be back at school immersing myself in all of the great teaching and learning that’s going on. It’s also gratifying to be seeing some of the wonderful examples of student achievement and rich learning conversations between staff and students over next step learning and the curriculum decisions that will further drive this.

Improving outcomes

Our teachers have done an excellent job of working with our students to improve learning outcomes. NAPLAN results are about to be released to parents and I can already say our results are some of the best I have seen. Many of our students are in the higher bands for their age group and nearly all of our students achieved National Minimum Standard. Two years ago, the growth in our results ranked us 4th on SA. I’m hoping that this year we rank even higher.

Parent support

With our year once again being ravaged by Covid, none of this could have been possible without the help of our parents, who have been such good partners in our children’s education journey.
I love the job of being Principal of Central Yorke School. Our students are amazing; our community is great and our staff support the learning potential of our children. I can truly say they go above and beyond. Certainly one of the best parts of my role is being able to celebrate the amazing things our staff and students do and the achievements they amass over their time with us.

Thanks to our SSO’s

Two weeks ago was SSO week and we celebrated the wonderful work our Student Services Officers do at Central Yorke School. We currently have many SSO’s working at our school doing a variety of roles including grounds, classroom intervention, front office administration, library and ICT. Our SSO’s work hard to provide a positive and supportive environment so our children can enjoy learning with their teachers, working tirelessly for our school to make it the best it can be. Please take the opportunity when you can, to thank an SSO for all their efforts in making our school great.
