We have two very important volunteers visiting our school each week called Addie and Macy. They are our special school dogs who work with our students to support wellbeing and learning.
Addie (pictured above) is a Border Collie and is our therapy dog. She helps students regulate their emotions and provides a sense of calm for students who need that extra care.
Macy (below) is our reading dog and comes in one afternoon a week to listen to students read. Macy is a reading encouragement dog. Students in the primary school who practise and improve their reading get a turn to read to Macy and myself.
At Central Yorke School we support students to engage in the school community and enjoy coming to school to learn every day.
