Yeti Hunt Update – Week 7

Important Dates

Just a reminder that we have two evening performances this year. The survey we conducted earlier this year indicated just two students would be unable to attend both nights.
Please let the school know as soon as possible if your child is unavailable for a performance so that alternative arrangements can be made for their place in songs and dances.
We now have a matinee on Tuesday September 25 and an evening performance on Wednesday September 26 and Thursday September 27.
Our full September rehearsal schedule is as follows:

  • 17 Act 1 Dress Rehearsal
  • 18 Act 2 Dress Rehearsal
  • 20 Full Show Dress Rehearsal
  • 24 Full Show Dress Rehearsal
  • 25 Matinee Performance (10:30am)
  • 26 Evening Performance (7pm)
  • 27 Evening Performance (7pm)

Tickets

Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday September 12. Students involved in the production do not need a ticket for any performance.

  • Adult: $10
  • Child / concession: $5
  • Family (2xadult 2x children) $20
  • Parents attending both evening performances may purchase the second evening ticket for $5.

Costumes

Di Bourne and her merry band of sewing elves have created over 100 costumes for students to wear. Some parts of the costume (such as a white skivvy or socks) will need to be provided by students. Your child will be informed if this is required.

Please ensure your child’s clothes are labelled so they can change out of their costumes back into the correct clothing. It would be appreciated if children can be reminded to fold and return their costumes to the provided bag after wearing.

Class helpers

Dressing a class of Yetis (or Sherpas or Mountain Climbers, Prussian Guards, Mystic Lamas or Village Children!) is a big task. Contact your child’s teacher if you can offer help with this at any of the dress rehearsals or performances.

Thankyous

A big thank you to all the class teachers, SSOs, parents, community members and students who have sewn, sawed, painted, assembled, built, tidied, learned lines, sung, choreographed, operated equipment and performed in the rehearsals so far. The scenery is looking spectacular, the costumes amazing, the acting dramatic (and funny!) and our leads are vibrant and enthused!
