The fabulous ‘Music Is Fun Band’ visited CYS on Monday December 7 and along with the Maitland Lutheran School we enjoyed eighty minutes of nonstop music and fun!
This year’s concert was a little different because of Covid restrictions and the usual riot of fancy costumes for the students was sadly missing. But the high energy music certainly wasn’t with songs such as ‘Wombat On a Surf Board’, ‘Blue Suede Shoes’, ‘Jai Ho’ and ‘An Austrian Went Yodelling’ being some of the favourites.
There were musical demonstrations too, with a stick-tricks on the snare drum and the hose-pipe trumpet being firm favourites.
Our students still got to participate with groups holding up signs, dancing, sharing their animal masks and assisting the band with props.
Thank you to Andre and all the Music Is Fun Band musicians for such a high-energy and high-participation show. Your love of music and passion in bringing it to our students was most evident!
