Potato Olympics

During Term 3, Miss Smart’s and Mr Rennie’s classes collaborated on an engaging project about the Olympics. Students explored the origins of the Olympic Games, gaining insight into its rich history, and delved into the significance of the opening and closing ceremonies.
Each student was assigned a country to follow throughout the duration of the games, deepening their understanding of global cultures while creatively designing a “potato athlete” to represent their respective country.

Olympic Time!

In Week 6, both classes participated in their own version of the Olympic Games. Students competed in a variety of sports, showcasing teamwork and sportsmanship. The experience culminated in an award ceremony where winners were presented with medals, mirroring the tradition of the Olympic Games.
This project not only enhanced students’ knowledge of the Olympics and global cultures but also fostered a sense of community and friendly competition.
