The National Quality Framework is a document which drives continuous improvement in early childhood services. The framework identifies the quality areas, standards and elements which define the benchmark of where Services are operating against the National Quality Standard.
Partnerships with families
There are seven quality areas, one of which is, Quality Area 6 – Collaborative Partnerships with families.
This standard recognises the connections between children, families and communities and the importance of reciprocal relationships and partnerships (Early Years Learning Framework, page 14).
When there are connections between children, families and community children’s learning and wellbeing is supported and enhanced.
Valuing the community
At the Central Yorke ELC we value and respect the community of which we are part of not only here at the Central Yorke School campus, but also within the local Maitland community and the broader community of the Yorke Peninsula.
The past two weeks have been filled with collaborating with families and communities through participating in community events.
These events include: a visit from YP vets, travelling to Gym Jams at Ardrossan Area School and lunch at Ardrossan Kindy, a shared reading with students R-6 and visits to the Community Library where we shared stories with the year 4/5 class.
We have also appreciated the support shown by the families who have joined us for these occasions. Enjoy the snapshots of the fun and learning we have been having in our wonderful community.
