Our Junior Concert Band had its first 2018 rehearsal on Thursday May 17.
The band, comprising 5-8 beginner students and more advanced helper students, have been learning several band songs as part of their regular instrumental lessons with Debbie Schwartz.
Today was the first time they had played together though, and the young musicians were commended by all the music staff for their attention, responsiveness to conducting, intonation and rhythm.
Special thanks to the older ‘helper’ musicians who led individual sections.
The band has been entered into the this year’s Balaklava Eisteddfod in the Junior section.
