It was a bright, cool and clear morning for Maitland’s 2019 ANZAC Dawn Service, held at the town War Memorial.
The Concert Band led by conductor Debbie Schwartz accompanied the large community crowd with the traditional hymns whilst the Senior Vocal Group performed the stirring ‘Spirit of the Anzacs’.
Our SRC students presented wreathes and books for the community library and it was wonderful to see many old-scholars attending and playing in the band.
ANZAC breakfast
After the service over 200 people attended the breakfast in the Football Club rooms. Guest of honour was old-scholar Tristan Lodge (ex-Navy) who gave the address at the ANZAC breakfast.
Our students’ ANZAC posters were on display and the R/1 class poster provided a backdrop for the speakers.
Arthurton Service
Our youngest SRC member Olivia Adams represented CYS at the Arthurton ANZAC day service on Thursday where she proudly laid the wreath on behalf of our school. Thank you to all staff, students and families who represented our school and supported this important community event.
