The R-2 students’ storybook lesson ‘Fang Fang’s Chinese New Year’ was a popular read. As well as extending their vocabulary, answering both literal and inferential questions about the book and learning about another culture’s traditions and food the students got to practice using chopsticks, some for the very first time.
We started with ‘sponges’ and then moved on to real dumplings. They were a big hit with everyone!
