CYS students explored future career paths in conservation, ecosystems and trades.
In Week 8 of the term, Duwan, Kyrell and Rovina attended the Workabout Indigenous Pathways camp in Adelaide, designed to assist them in completing their EIF assessments and gain an understanding of future career options.
Conservation & Ecosystems
Duwan and Kyrell chose to be a part of the conservation and ecosystems group where they attended soil testing with the University of Adelaide, a ranger talk at Morialta Conservation Park, micro-organism hunting in the wetlands and conservation training at Monarto. They had an amazing time cooperating with their peers from across the state and learning about career pathways in conservation and land management.
Trade pathways
Rovina chose to learn about trade pathways for the week and got the incredible opportunity to train in bricklaying, tiling and electrotechnology. These immersion days allowed Rovina to get a taste for a variety of trades so that she feels more confident deciding what career she wants to pursue in the future.
