We had a wonderful Grandies Special Person Book Week Celebration at Point Pearce.
Students read their current reader to their special person proudly showing off their reading skills. We then invited students to select a special book with their person from a selection of books donated by the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF) to read together. We had such beautiful weather that we sat outside in the sun to read, which in my opinion is the best place you can ever choose to read a book! With their special person’s help, the students wrote a postcard to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation telling them what they thought of the book.
It was a very special day finished off by morning tea which was a great chance for us all to come together as a community.
