The CYS K-6 students celebrated Simultaneous Reading Day on May 19.
They joined over one million readers across Australia to hear astronaut Shannon Walker read ‘Give Me Some Space’. Shannon was on board the International Space Station and it was huge fun watching her and the book float and spin in space! We watched safely from Earth and enjoyed both her reading and the book.
Mrs Hasting presented lots of Premiers Reading Challenge certificates- well done to all those industrious readers!
Then we all headed out onto the Primary Oval where we had set up a miniature solar system.
Each class landed on a planet (or dwarf planet) then launched video-recording space probes to search for life.
The video footage was edited together and played at the Primary Assembly on Friday.
