This term the Year 11 Biology class are studying ‘Disease’.
The students are working on a report in which they play the part of a health official with the job of controlling an outbreak of hypothetical Disease X which has hit a small rural town.
We are also examining factors which can minimise the spread of disease. In these photos, the students are looking at the impact of soap and toilet paper to reduce the transmission of pathogens.
We used harmless yeast, but the same rules apply for more serious microorganisms such as E coli.
