Dinosaur Hunt

The Receptions have been enthusiastically learning all about Palaeontology and the study of fossils after reading the picture book ‘There was an old lady who swallowed a fossil’.

They learned that a fossil is ‘any preserved remains, impressions or trace of a once-living thing.’ The Reception group is always happy to incorporate dinosaurs into the classroom and were hooked once they discovered that I had found some fossil footprints on my holiday travels in Broome.

So we all became apprentice palaeontologists and have been busy exploring the schoolgrounds, carefully cordoning off worksites, uncovering a selection of dinosaur bones and footprints (which were really quite tasty biscuits!) and making our very own dough fossils.
