Point Pearce students have set up two worm farms with the intention to collect the ‘worm tea’ which we’ll use to help our plants and garden we are organising to grow.
We assembled the worm farm with newspaper, soil and 500 worms.
Students then investigated and observed all the different types of worms in the farms.
The students noticed that some were big, some were small while others were fat or skinny. We got hands on with the worms (and very dirty!) holding the worms and observing them through the magnifying glass.
Students have also fed the worms many of the fruit scraps from fruit time to help them grow and make the special ‘worm tea.’
