On Friday February 19, Mark from Australian Bee Services visited the Year 11 Ag class to show them the ins and outs of beekeeping. This was a great opportunity for the students to ask questions about an assessment task they had been completing on caring for bees and designing an experiment around bee physiology. Mark was able to give the students a hands on approach, helping them in using a smoker, identifying the queen, caring for a hive, understanding the importance of biosecurity and enjoying the fun side of eating freshly made honey!
