“World No Tobacco Day” School Competition Winners
The Puyu Blaster team regularly visit our SAASTA program to deliver their education program to our students on how smoking affects your health.
This year for World No Tobacco Day they held a school competition wanting to know why you won’t smoke. Our SAASTA Connect students entered the competition sharing their story on the theme; ‘I Won’t Smoke Because’.
Winners are grinners!
Congratulations to Billy Eveleigh, Caylim Karpany, Kuliah Power, Melana Horral-Smith, Nataliah Elliot and Meg Lock on their winning entries. Trent Wingard the Youth Project Officer of the Tackling Indigenous Smoking Programme at the Aboriginal Health Council of SA said that the entries from CYS SAASTA Connect were:
‘ Deadly, very interesting, demonstrated that they had researched information to include on their poster and looked amazing!
The winning entries will receive time to work with a creative marketing agency to bring their artwork to life to be used in promotional and learning material. Special thanks to our SAASTA Connect students winning the school competitions as we also have won a Colour Fun Run for Central Yorke School which will be run by the Puyu Blaster team.
We will stay in contact with Trent to organise the Colour Fun Run for later in the year.
