From the Principal | March Update

‘We encourage all students to act like leaders, as you are always representing our community… and we expect great things from everyone.’

Leaders’ Induction

A huge thank you to Miss Nixon for coordinating another fantastic Leaders’ Induction. It was wonderful to see our new student leaders being recognised by so many special guests and the wider school community. I look forward to watching them grow and develop in their roles over the year.

As I said in my opening address, I encourage all students to act like leaders, just because you may not be representing your peers in the SRC, you are always representing our school and our communities and we expect great things from every one of our students.

Sports Day

The excitement leading up to Sports Day has been incredible! A massive shoutout to the Sports Committee for running brilliant pre-Sports Day events. Seeing students proudly wearing their ribbons is a testament to the effort that goes into these activities.

A big well done to all participants, including the dedicated staff who quite literally went the extra mile by running alongside students! It has been great to hear all of the students working on their war cries and building some team spirit.

It will be great to see our community out there on Thursday supporting our students.

School Photos

A big thank you to everyone for their flexibility and teamwork on school photo day. It was so nice to see students capturing memories for their loved ones and striking a pose in front of the camera.

A special mention to Mel for keeping everything running smoothly—your organisation was exceptional!

Literacy Coaching Update

This year we are fortunate to have the Literacy Guarantee Unit once again supporting our site. Kate Knill will be here on Mondays and work as our Literacy Coach. A big thank you to our Primary staff for dedicating themselves to constantly looking to improve the learning outcomes for our students.

Invacuation Drill Reminder

If you heard numerous sirens this week -don’t stress! We were running an invacuation drill for staff and students. I am happy to report that the students and staff did an amazing job and if we ever (hopefully not!) have a reason for an invacuation drill, our staff and students are ready to go and everyone will be safe.

SAASTA & SAASTA Connect

Wednesday will be an exciting day for our SAASTA and SAASTA Connect students as they participate in the Deadly Funny workshop and comedy performance by Sean Choolburra and Kevin Kropinyeri, thanks to Country Arts SA.

The Senior SAASTA group will also receive visits from Port Adelaide, Aboriginal Pathways, Flinders University, SAASTA, and SAPOL. It’s set to be a jam-packed and inspiring day!

Pupil Free Day – Friday

Just a reminder that this coming Friday we will be holding a Student Free Day. Staff will be working on some exciting new initiatives and preparing for the year ahead.
