Welcome to the Central Yorke School R-6 Primary
Central Yorke School’s Primary School, located in the southern wing of the Maitland Campus, offers an enriching and supportive learning environment designed to foster each child’s growth. Our Junior Primary classrooms are adjacent and directly connected to the Early Learning Centre, ensuring a smooth transition and shared programs that bridge each stage of early education.
Our small class sizes enable tailored, focused teaching that meets individual learning needs, while extensive facilities provide students with enriching experiences. Our students have access to dedicated nature play areas, a gymnasium, and Performing Arts Centre, and they benefit from specialist teachers in Music, Drama, PE and Dance. These programs help develop confidence, creativity, and a love of learning in every student.
A unique highlight is our Garden to Plate program, where students actively participate in planting, growing, harvesting, and cooking fresh produce in our on-site Agricultural (AG) Block. This hands-on approach teaches essential skills, promotes healthy eating, and gives students a sense of pride in creating their own meals from garden to table.
The Primary School is led by Chelsea Schmidt, our experienced Assistant principal (Secondary), who is passionate about providing a supportive, engaging, and comprehensive education that equips students for a bright future.
