National Reconciliation Week is from May 27th to June 3rd. The theme for this year’s NRW is ‘Grounded in Truth, Walk Together with Courage’.
I would like to thank all staff involved in facilitating learning activities around Aboriginal Culture. Each year National Reconciliation Week (NRW) celebrates the rich culture and history of the First Australians. It is the ideal time for everyone to join the reconciliation conversation and to think about how we can help turn around the disadvantage experienced by many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The ’67 referendum made history as Australians voted overwhelmingly to amend the constitution to include Aboriginal people in the census and allow the Commonwealth to create laws for them. It was considered a triumph of the human spirit that continues to inspire generations of Indigenous and non-Indigenous people alike.
