Port Adelaide ‘Yitpi Yartapuultiku’ Excursion

Year 7/8 and Year 11 Integrated Studies students travelled to Yitpi Yartapuultiku in Port Adelaide to deepen their understanding of Indigenous culture through an immersive and hands-on experience.

Students were welcomed with a powerful opening story and explored cultural art and sculptures, sacred yarning circles, a nature playground, hundreds of native plants and stunning views. It was inspiring to learn that this remarkable place has been created in just six years, beginning with nothing but kinetic sand.

The school extends its thanks to Willis for warmly guiding the students, sharing knowledge about the land and traditions and offering valuable insight and storytelling that made the day unforgettable.

Students thoroughly enjoyed connecting with the space and learning in a meaningful way. Experiences like this leave a lasting impact, providing both memories and important lessons for life.
