Year 7/8 students visited the Port Pirie Foreshore as part of their English and HASS Learning Expedition focusing on accessibility, inclusion and liveability within communities.
During the excursion, students explored the accessible beach and inclusive playground spaces, examining features designed to support people of all abilities. Students investigated accessible pathways, specialised equipment and playground design while discussing how communities can become more inclusive.
The excursion provided ideas and inspiration for students as they continue developing their own plans for improving accessibility within the local community. Students engaged in discussions and reflected on how environmental design can positively impact everyday life.
