Year 7–9 students travelled to Maitland on 16 June to compete in the 9-a-side football carnival against schools from across the Yorke Peninsula.
The boys joined with students from Ardrossan Area School to form a combined team, providing an opportunity to build new connections and work collaboratively throughout the day.
Despite wet and challenging conditions, all students demonstrated determination and resilience, competing strongly in each match. The carnival also provided valuable opportunities to further develop teamwork, communication and sportsmanship skills.
Both teams faced strong opposition throughout the competition. While results did not fall their way, students represented Central Yorke School positively and should be proud of their efforts and conduct on and off the field.
