Literacy and unique experiences

T here has been some exciting experiences in Literacy this term with Book Week and Indigenous Literacy Day. The R-2 students focused on a dreaming story How The Birds Got Their Colours and looked wonderful in their beautiful coloured wings they made at school at the Book Week Assembly. They enjoyed watching the online event for Indigenous Literacy Day on Thursday and seeing the song Heads Shoulders Knees and Toes being sung in First Languages. Our students have been singing the same song in Nharrunga language!

Our R-2 students have been busy writing back to their pen pals at Trinity Gardens and we have seen some really great examples of writing coming from this experience. The students are visiting the Point Pearce Campus in Week 3 and everyone is getting very excited to meet their pen pals.
