Senior secondary students recently attended the P.A.R.T.Y. Program (Prevent Alcohol and Risk-related Trauma in Youth), an educational initiative designed to increase awareness of the consequences of risk taking behaviours and support young people to make safe and informed decisions.
Through the program, students explored the impacts of trauma and injury, while learning about the importance of personal responsibility, decision making and risk management.
As part of the program, students were also encouraged to download the Emergency+ app, a free resource that helps emergency services locate callers more quickly during an emergency. The app provides GPS coordinates and other location information, making it a valuable safety tool for both young people and adults.
The experience provided students with practical information and strategies to support their health, safety and wellbeing both now and in the future.
