As part of our ongoing support of Aboriginal Education and Narungga Culture at Central Yorke School we have partnered with Country Arts SA and Aboriginal artists Nikki Ashby, Jacob Boehme, Kevin Kropinyeri, Clem Newchurch and Brad Darkson to share the Wild Dog Dreaming Story on Narungga Country and forge links to a school in Taiwan.
Assisted by elder Aunty Ninni and youth workers, Naomi and Lynarha, students have retraced the Dreaming Story through dance, visual art, puppetry and string making on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during Weeks 2-7.
The students have recently undertaken an excursion over two days on country to journey through the Wild Dog Dreaming Story.
Students visited Troubridge Hill, Curramulka, Coobowie, Port Vincent and Black Point to observe areas of significance.
Students will also partake in video conferences with students from Taiwan in the coming weeks and share their stories.
This will culminate with their work being presented later in the year on an international stage.
