Maitland Show 2023

As a community focus school, it is important we support community events such as the Maitland Show.

Our strong presence this year started early with our wonderfully creative students and staff participating in the parade. Our theme was “The wonders of paddock to plate”. Our wonders included bees, butterflies, carrots, capsicums, farm machinery, scarecrows and much more! I must say our students were a standout and very cute, which undoubtedly helped in us winning the ‘Best Float’ ribbon.

Our sub-school classes showcased our high quality teaching and learning on our show boards in the school’s shed. It was a colourful and creative celebration of students work this term.

CYS has always had a strong Parents and Friends (P&F) group who work hard to support our school. This year the P&F ran the BBQ at the show. It was wonderful to see families working with our staff in the community to support the Maitland Show. I would like to thank every one who gave up their time to volunteer and a special thanks to Mel Dickie, Jenny Moloney, Deb Bray and Janine Burrows for organising the event.

It is truly a privilege to work with a community of families and staff who are so committed to our school.
