Students explored themes of courage, resilience and teamwork through a shared reading experience.
Primary students joined schools across Australia in celebrating National Simultaneous Storytime, sharing in this year’s featured book, Luna Roo, The Kangaroo Ballet by Adam Wallace, Adrian Beck and James Hart.
Students enjoyed following Luna Roo’s journey and discussing themes of teamwork, resilience, courage and overcoming nerves. A special guest reader visited the school to share the story and engage students in conversation about its messages.
Students reflected on their favourite parts of the story:
- “When she didn’t give up.” – Kaitlin M
- “She tried her best.” – Kaia G
- “She inspired her team.” – Alexander G
- “When people cheered for her, she felt taller.” – Lachlan P
To extend the experience, students were invited to take part in a design competition by creating their own guernsey.
