Building Shelters

Towards the end of Term 2, the R-2 children were involved in learning some Narungga words based around the planning of and building of shelters. The children were involved in building wardlis (shelters) out of bidjila (sticks) and mara (leaves).
They all made a model of a shelter first and then were able to work in small teams outside to build life sized shelters to sit in. The children worked well in teams to collect materials and build their wardlis. It was lots of fun.
