“That Boy” Theatre Production

On Wednesday the 17th of March, Stage 2 English students viewed a theatre production at the Adelaide Fringe Festival called ‘That Boy’ . A darkly satirical, beautiful, raw, human story of one mother’s fight to break the cycle of inherited behaviour and save her son. Based on true life events, That Boy challenged the audience to question what is acceptable in today’s changing world.

The students are currently writing a critical review for publication in either a newspaper, magazine or website. The review analyses and evaluates interpretative choices made by various people involved in the production including the playwright, director, musical director, choreographer, actors and lighting, sound, costume and set designers. Students are working to complete the first component of their Stage 2 English course, Responding to Texts.
